Title: Works great, speeds up old laptops nicely!
Review: I’ve bought and installed several of these over the last few years, and had great results. I use them to replace the old spinning hard-drives in older laptops, and it cuts boot time dramatically, and really breathes new life into old laptops. No cables or screws included, but that’s not an issue when I’m cloning and swapping out the old hard-drive.It’s not NVME, but it helps get a couple / few more years out of a laptop by making the system much more responsive.I’ve only had one ever die, and that was because the laptop motherboard fried and took the RAM and SSD with it. So not an issue with the SSD, just an issue with the old HP laptop.Highly recommended. 🙂

Title: A Must-Have Upgrade for the Xbox One X
Review: I recently replaced the original hard disk drive (HDD) in my Xbox One X with the Western Digital 1TB WD Blue SA510 SATA SSD, and the results have been nothing short of phenomenal. This upgrade has completely transformed my console, making it feel faster and more responsive in every aspect. The most noticeable improvement is in the boot and game loading times. Games that used to take what felt like an eternity to load now start up in a fraction of the time. This has drastically reduced the friction of jumping into a gaming session. Beyond just games, the entire Xbox home dashboard feels far more fluid and responsive. Navigating through menus, browsing the store, and switching between apps is now incredibly quick, eliminating the sluggishness I had grown accustomed to with the old HDD.While the installation process for an internal drive can be a bit more involved than simply plugging in an external one, the performance benefits are well worth the effort. The WD Blue SA510 is an excellent choice for this kind of project, offering a significant speed boost at a reasonable price point. I highly recommend this drive to any Xbox One X owner looking to breathe new life into their console and gain a massive performance advantage. It’s a simple, effective, and impactful upgrade that will change how you use your console.

Title: Failed After 30 Months
Review: I purchased this Western Digital Blue SSD (WD SSD) to replace a 500GB Seagate hard disk drive in my Dell Latitude 3460 laptop running Windows 10. The motivation was to improve I/O disk storage performance. Installation was a snap. The included (via download) Acronis disk duplicator software was helpful, but not flawless. The WD SSD dramatically improved computer performance, which was highly desirable. While I wasn’t noticing any specific errors accessing my data on the SSD, I did see that the Western Digital SSD monitoring software stopped working after about one year and then the Dell Support Assist software also stopped working. I didn’t think anything of it and just kept on using my laptop as usual.Sadly, when I opened my laptop on the morning of May 27th, 2025, the BIOS screen displayed with an error reporting no hard disk drive found. I was not able to recover from this error using typical troubleshooting techniques including reseating the SATA cable at both ends, etc. Fortunately, I still had my old Seagate disk drive, which had been removed 30 months earlier and not touched since, and reinstalled it. My laptop started right up with the hard disk and so began the ordeal of 30 months’ worth of Windows and other software updates. Fortunately, I had been using Windows File History to back up my data and was able to recover my data and avoid any noteworthy data loss.Using the Sabrent external hard drive enclosure I originally purchased to facilitate the hard disk to SSD migration, I attempted to access the WD SSD by connecting it to a USB port through the Sabrent device. The SSD was not detected by my laptop and therefore no longer accessible.I’m not sure I will purchase another SSD and try this migration again. While I was able to avoid data loss, the effort to recover from the mess amounted to an enormous inconvenience. I have read in articles and seen on YouTube good things about Crucial SSD so if I try this again, that would be the next brand I try. I am not likely to purchase another Western Digital product. My suggestion is to avoid this specific product and, if you do decide to go the SSD route, make sure you have a daily backup strategy in place to minimize the risk of data loss. I do not recommend Windows File History though. It did ultimately save my data, but it was not flawless and I had to manually restore my files little-by-little because the Windows File History restore facility would not restore my files to a different hard drive. Now, I am using Free File Sync with a custom script to back up my data to an NAS.Thank you for reading my remarks.

Title: Good price for 2tb drive!
Review: So far so good. We needed another hard drive in my son’s computer. WD Blue drives are good quality and have worked great for us in the past. Very easy to install. Was a good value for 2tb drive. Seems to be loading things pretty quick.

Title: Far better than cheapo SSDs
Review: Disappointed in write speeds of the ultra cheap options? step up to this for something thats actually usable. You wont regret going with a reputable model from a reputable company. Its nothing cray but will get the job done and your data will just feel better than on something like a kingston for half the price.

Title: WD continues to deliver
Review: Refreshing my consoles and was able to snag on sale to upgrade my PS4 Pro from the hybrid drive I installed by the same brand, WD. Easy enough to replace. My PS4 Pro was never loud, but now it’s basically silent. WD continues to deliver consistent quality. The load times on a few games got slightly better, like say with Elden Ring.

Review: I successfully used this 1TB WD SSD to increase the storage capacity inside my Eufy HomeBase 3.The drive is silent, generates no heat and handles the video disk transfer needs of seven 4K security cameras.Excellent price compared to other options, but more importantly, it works in the Eufy HomeBase 3 without any issues. The SSD’s case has screw positions in exactly the same locations as a traditional 2.5” disk drive, so the SSD can be used in most situations to replace one eg. a laptop.Very highly recommended.

Review: Product arrived timeously and clearly good quality befitting the Western Digital brand image/promise. Once installed it works well, as expected.Install/usage instructions to install/use, etc. are not that great, got to say, and can be described as reasonably acceptable. No doubt at all that WD could/should have made the process a whole lot easier …. disappointing. As WD and SanDisk are now clearly part of the same group and it therefore needs to be clearly explained (PLEASE NOTE, WD!) that SanDisk is now the lead brand / product and that, for instance, management of WD products seem to clearly be via the use of SanDisk software, etc. Thus, a whole lot of “greyness” pervades around the implications of both these brand names existing within the same company.I would imagine that non-techie / newbies to SSD installation to replace their HDD’s would find this process unnecessarily difficult. One has to ask the question why the greyness around this modern, popular SSD usage, etc. to replace one’s older technology HDD’s? Weird …Deserved criticisms aside, as mentioned, the WD SSD is good value and, once properly installed, works well. Newbies can trust the delivery of this WD SSD but will be a little challenged in finalising the installation/usage/management process. As a new, working SSD therefore, once properly installed, I can recommend the quality, speed and expected reliability expected from the WD brand name/promise. Make sure, however, that you go through the frustrating, clunky process of registering the disk, otherwise any possible future failures will not be honoured.
